Thunderbird Turbo Coupe
these cars have been my life since Nov 1998 when i purchased my first one. i was 14 years old. my father helped me build the car up from a blown engine to my first car. A 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Silver blue with a 2.3l turbocharged 4 cylinder. she drove the roads of NJ for 3 weeks starting in Oct 2000. unfortunately my inexperience in driving the car was totaled in accident on Nov 7,2000.
The next month we had found a blue 88 Tbird Turbo Coupe with a blown engine.
another car rescued and rebuilt. i drove that car everyday from Jan 2001- April 2004. Again a severe accident did it in. i still have the car and will always be known as *Turbo*.
May 2004 i found my current TC. 1988 Gray TC. it had a non turbo 2.3 4 cylinder and automatic trans. i swapped out the auto for the 5 spd. and a year later finally put in the turbo 2.3 out of my blue 88.
This car is now my life. after a paint job, rebuilt just about everything. i love it. its my stress relief. its stil not perfect but funding is tough. this one got the name *Turbo II*. the second generation of my rebuilds. i do what i can to make it where i like it.luckily being an auto tech helps. and that's how i got *Turbo III*.
Being in a nation-wide club North American Turbo-Coupe Organization, i have met alot of fellow turbo coupe-a-holics. this is how i met tony sceia. he helped my paint turbo II and i have helped him with his red 88 and his blue 87. he had a parts car that was identical to turbo ii.. just an 87, not an 88. it just sat.. he was going to use parts off of it for his.. but never really happened. one day he wanted to get rid of some parts and offered me the car in exchange for fixing up his red 88 for the upcoming show season. so Turbo III was acquired. i have gotten the car running and up to par for being now my main mode of transportation. its not the prettiest TC but looks good.
